The Sariga SagaA courageous and compassionate enterprise

The story of Sariga, with its name derived from the primal notes of music, is a journey of purposeful entrepreneurship, relentless ambition and sustained growth. All this with a focus on empowering the marginalised sections of society.
Beginning modestly in 1989 as a film distribution venture, Sariga soon ventured into its core business of garments in 1990, through a foray into distribution of apparel. In that decade, as India’s economy opened up and liberalised, Sariga held a sweet spot in firmly establishing a garments supply foothold in Kerala, while also upgrading itself to the production of tv serials, media production equipment hire and allied areas in multimedia. The next elevation in this journey came about in 2004, with the setting up of their own garment manufacturing unit in Palakkad, Kerala. This was followed soon enough by entering the heart of India’s liberalised growing economy, Mumbai, in 2007, to acquire a well-established manufacturing unit and the launch of their own brand, Brack. This heralded a new era of excellence in quality products under their own brand, leading to strengthen brand recognition and market presence. Today this successful brand retails not just in India, but is also exported to countries around the world. Fulfilling this demand, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility setup at the KINFRA Integrated Industrial and Textile Park at Kanjikode in Palakkad, built from scratch by Sariga.
Sariga today also impacts society at a grassroot level through its relentless focus on the education and empowerment of children. Through five aided and two unaided schools in Palakkad district of Kerala, Sariga has improved lives of thousands of families and their communities. With a special focus on economically backward children, their schools today cover 2500 children and employ 125 teachers. The seeds of this journey were sown back in the 1930s when founder PS Sasikumar’s great ancestors, visionary enough to realise the importance of education to the people of the State, established the earliest schools in their village. The family lineage since then has strengthened this focus and today Sariga group has taken this journey to a new pinnacle.
As Sariga Apparels, Sariga Creations and Sariga Public School, the Sariga Group today stands as a brilliant testimony to what sheer entrepreneurial spirit and a can-do attitude can contribute to society. Sariga’s impact goes beyond just the business realm and is also a model for anyone wanting to make a difference to future generations as well, through quality inclusive grassroot level education.
